INKA TRAIL 4D/3N
CUSCO- PISCACUCHO- WAYLLABAMBA
We will pick up from your hotels from 04:30 to 05:00 then drive to the city of Ollantaytambo (2 hours), here you can have breakfast, buy some coca leaves and we recommend buying a pair of wooden sticks (10 soles) after We will continue our trip by bus now to Piskacucho (2700 masl) to the community located at kilometer 82 of the Cusco-Machu Picchu railway. At this point, all hikers must show their original passport in order to enter the Inka road to Machu Picchu. From this point we will do a walk of 12 km.
We cross the bridge and walk along the left bank of the Urubamba River. Following the path along flat terrain, we reach the small community of Miskay (2800 masl), where we take a short break and try only if they want some local chicha (corn beer) from the Andean ladies sitting in the Then continue walking along a steep path that will take you to a high plateau, from where all hikers will be rewarded with an incredible view of an Inca building called Patallacta (2750 masl). WAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO
We will wake up early and after breakfast we start to climb up 9 km along a narrow valley full of vegetation and nice streams. On this section visitors will experience a hard path, full of steps, so we advise you to take it easy and stop to rest along the way at any time you wish. Later on we will reach Lluluchapampa Village. At this point we will be starting the climbing to the highest and most famous mountain pass, the Abra Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass 4200 m.a.s.l.). It will take about 2 hours to get to the top, we recommend just to do it slowly, without pushing yourself too much. Usually our tour guide will be with us till the end, so even if you got delayed, don’t worry, the group will
Wait for everyone at the top of the Pass. Try to carry some chocolates, candies and coca leaves on your day backpack, this will help to keep your sugar level high, and also help to ward off altitude sickness. Once reach the pass, we will descend a winding way of steps 2.5 km, that cross a narrow valley, which is the habitat for many different kinds of birds, like hummingbirds and sparrows and the Andean bear, which is also called the Spectacled Bear (Tremarctus Ornatus). We will have lunch along the way, and afterwards continue till our campsite at Pacaymayo Valley (3600 m.a.s.l.), where we will have dinner and take a deep rest after such a hard day.
PACAYMAYO – WIÑAYHUAYNA
After breakfast we will continue our walk this stretch is 15 km. Full of vegetation and amount of Inca archaeological sites of different functions. The first archaeological site we will visit will be Runcurakay (3970 masl). It is another Inka archaeological complex in the form of towers that has a strategic site of surveillance of this valley, then we continue to Chaquicocha where we will have lunch, then we will continue to Phuyupatamarka (which means place above the clouds), on the route we will pass inside a tunnel carved in rock. and we will continue to Wiñayhuayna another wonderful complex where we will spend the night, the tour is of 4 hours full of beautiful landscapes, vegetation. In Wiñayhuayna, it is the last night that the guide informs as it is the sguirente day what time it is walking to celebrate the almost finished route of the inka.
WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHUPICCHU- CUSCO.
Earlier than normal after breakfast we will continue trekking to Machupicchu, we will pass by the last control and continue to the Inti Punku (door of the sun) and then to Machupicchu and you will have the impressive view of the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu, then you will have your guided tour of the place full of history, along with the guide will collect the most important and prominent sites of the ancient city inka, then you can take more photos, and explore the site, also for those who wish to climb the Waynapicchu need pay an entrance that is 50 american dollars and you need reserves of before along with your reserve of inka road that takes like an hour to raise, from there you have an unforgettable view of Machu Picchu and its surroundings. In the afternoon we will continue towards the Town of Aguas Calientes to have lunch and then take the train back to Cusco.
